When someone double clicks MP3 file or JPG, Winamp will be chosen automatically to play the song, or image browsing software to open the picture. It seems everything is OK. No one will consider your confidential file is in it. When you want to see the file hidden, you can alter the name of *.MP3 or *.JPG to *.RAR. Then click the file to see the file hidden. Pay attention to that don’t encrypt .RAR file. Otherwise, the file with name of .MP3 or .JPG can’t play songs or show pictures. That will raise others’ doubts.

Tips 1:

First step: Put the file to encrypt and one MP3 song or JPG picture into the same folder. Select the file to encrypt and MP3 or JPG file in window of Window Explorer, and then click right button to choose "Add file to package" command in menu popped out.    

Second step: Input file name in "Package name" of dialog box "Package name and parameters". Choose "save" in "compress mode", and click "OK". After that, .RAR compressed file will be created, as is noted in Figure 1. 
 

Third step: Click the file and open it through WinRAR. Click right button and select “Sorting order” in menu popped out. No matter what you select, it will be OK, as long as you can put the MP3 or JPG file among compressed files in the front. Eventually, alter name suffix of compressed file to .MP3 or JPG.

 Tip 2:

Packing compresses the file to hide to RAR file through WinRAR, and then prepare a picture with GIF format. If don’t have one, you can use software to transform picture format. Next, use an editor that supports 16 Hexadecimal document editor, such as UltraEdit32. Our aim is to hide RAR file in GIF. When others click the GIF file, he will see the image. By this, the confidential file is hidden. If you want to check the file, you can alter GIF file to RAR. Click it and WinRAR is started. Eventually you can see the hidden file.

Pay special attention to that try not to be a smarty-pants to add access password to RAR. Otherwise, hiding will fail, and GIF hidden fails to show pictures. Moreover, RAR file fails to be opened through WinRAR. 　

First step: Prepare a GIF file. It is suggested that the GIF file you selected should not too small. Otherwise, volume becomes bigger after you add RAR file. That will also raise doubts that a GIF file has very few pixels, but very big file size. 

Second step: Use UltraEdit32 to open RAR file with confidential file. At this moment, you can see the file code of Hexadecimal. Press Ctrl+A to select codes of overall RAR file. Press Ctrl+C to copy these codes.

Third step: Use UltraEdit32 to open GIF file. Press Ctrl+End to the end of GIF file code, as is noted in Figure 2. In front of the second last Hexadecimal number, press Ctrl+V to insert the code just copied of RAR file. Click “save” in “file”, and GIF and RAR files will be merged. 

WinRAR is procedure that people usually use to compress or decompress. Besides, we often treat WinRAR as encrypted software. By this, aim of protecting data will be achieved through setting up password when compress files. However, there’re so many softwares that focuses on breaking password of WinRAR. To some extend, setting up a longer password can prevent others from breaking it forcedly. In addition, there’re some other tips. That will be safer if the counterpart doesn’t treat your file as other insignificant one at all!
