Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (SP2) is a set of updates and add-ons for the XP Professional operating system. SP2 includes security updates such as a better built-in firewall to protect against viruses and malware, and system upgrades that enhance the operating system. Upgrade your copy of Windows XP Professional to SP2, by downloading the service pack from the Microsoft Download Center website. This will help to keep your computer running as efficiently as possible.
Difficulty: EasyInstructions1Go to the Microsoft Download Center website (See Resources). Type SP2 in the search box at the top of the web page and click the search icon. Click "Windows Service Pack 2 for IT Professionals and Developers" from the results list.
2Click the "Download" button. Click the "Save File" button in the pop-up download window. Click "Browse," then choose a location to save the file. The file will download to your computer.
3Double-click the SP2 downloaded file. The Installation wizard will open. Click the "Next" button, then select the check box next to "I Agree" to agree to the terms of service. Click "Next" to continue with the installation. Click "Finish" when the wizard has completed. Your computer will automatically restart to complete the installation.
