The AutoPlay feature in a Windows operating system automatically opens removable media files using default applications. CyberLink PowerDVD is one of those default and preinstalled applications that comes free with the operating system. However, if you want to use another software to play back your DVD movies, then you can either change the default program, set Windows to ask you what program to use before playing or disable the AutoPlay on DVD movies altogether.
Difficulty: EasyInstructions1Go to the "Start" menu, click "All Programs" and select "Default Programs."
2Click "Change AutoPlay settings" link.
3Click the drop-down menu next to "DVD movie" (the drop-down menu should say "Play DVD Video using PowerDVD") and select either an alternative player from the listed options, or "Take no action" or "Ask me every time," depending on your personal preference.
4Click "Save."
