How to Transcode Video to Flash Files

All digital video files are encoded into specific formats. When a digital video file is converted into another format, it undergoes a process that is known as "transcoding." Numerous file conversion programs are capable of transcoding various types of digital video into Flash format. Flash videos are distributed with the FLV file extension and are specially formatted to stream through the Adobe Flash Player. Media Converter SA Edition, Aura Video Converter and iWisoft Free Video Converter are all free applications that are capable of generating FLV files from imported digital videos.

Media Converter SA Edition1

Launch Media Converter SA Edition. Click the "Open" button and search for the video input file in the file selection window. Double-click the item to load it into the program.

Click the "Save As" button, and a file-saving window will appear. Target a saving location for the FLV output file. Enter a clip title in the "File Name" field. Open the "Save as type" pull-down menu and select "flv (*.flv)." Click "Save."

Click the "Convert" button to activate the file conversion. When a confirmation message appears, the FLV output file will be stored in its targeted saving location.

Aura Video Converter1

Launch Aura Video Converter. Click the "Add" icon and search for the video input file in the file selection window. Double-click the item to load it into the program.

Open the 'Profile" pull-down menu. Go to "Flash Video and Picture" and select "FLV -- Flash Video Format (*.flv)"

Click the "Start" button to activate the file conversion. When a confirmation message appears, the FLV output file will be available. Click the "Output Folder" button to access the media in its default saving location.

Launch Aura Video Converter. Click the "Add Video" icon and search for the video input file in the file selection window. Double-click the item to load it into the program.

Open the 'Profile" pull-down menu and select "Flash Video Movie (*.flv)"

Click the "Convert" icon to activate the file conversion. When the FLV output file becomes available, the program will display the default saving location for the media.
